Yu Tang transmigrated into a wealthy family in the 1980s, but before she could enjoy a few peaceful days, a girl who had come from the countryside exposed her identity as a fake daughter.
Yu Tang: Tsk, fake and real daughters, so dog-blooded(melodramatic).
Even more melodramatic was the fact that both girls happened to reach the age to get engaged at the same time.
Yu Tang was originally set to marry her father’s good friend’s son in a month. The man was gentle, considerate, wealthy, influential, refined, and handsome.
Meanwhile, the real daughter had also been engaged under her parents’ arrangement, to a man from the same village. He was strong, made a living farming, and his family had a fish pond.
Since the two fiancés were clearly on very different levels, the real daughter’s parents naturally couldn’t let her go on marrying some poor, hopeless village boy after finally being reunited with their true daughter.
So…
Yu Tang simply packed her things and, amidst her adoptive parents’ awkward hesitation, went to the countryside and swapped engagements with the real daughter.
The real daughter married Yu Tang’s original fiancé.
And Yu Tang? She was now to marry that rugged country man.
Fine, fine. Who said transmigrating into the 1980s was supposed to be comfortable anyway? (shrug.jpg)

Ji Changfeng had been quite pleased after getting engaged to Li Chunfang.
Li Chunfang was quick and efficient with her hands, clearly someone who could live a good life with him.
He had been happily waiting for her to marry over, but a few days later, after finishing farm work with a hoe over his shoulder, he came home to find a porcelain-skinned, delicate-featured girl standing at the gate. She looked like she’d stepped out of a painting.
She told him she was here to switch engagements, Li Chunfang had reunited with her birth parents in the city and would be marrying someone else there.
Ji Changfeng was stunned.
He looked the girl up and down. No matter how he looked, she seemed fragile and dainty, like a porcelain doll. She couldn’t lift a finger, let alone do farm work. How was she supposed to compare with Li Chunfang?!
And sure enough…
She hurt her hand building a courtyard wall, scraped her skin picking fruit, and nearly burned the house down just trying to light a fire.
She lazily ordered him around, he had to prepare her bathwater in advance, have meals ready early, and even during that kind of thing, she’d be all picky and commanding. The moment she got tired, she’d roll over and demand to stop, leaving him sweating, frustrated, and gritting his teeth.
He was supposed to dislike her, but damn it… he was completely wrapped around her little finger.
For this delicate woman, he became even more determined to make money.
He wanted to earn big! Give her lots and lots of money! Let her live just as richly in the countryside as she did in the city! His wife deserved it!

Li Chunfang was very glad she had come to the city to find her birth parents. Not only did she gain a wealthy family background, but she also married a man with a stable, secure government job.
Even though the marriage lacked emotional connection due to their different educational levels and they didn’t have much in common, she still believed she was better off than Yu Tang, who had gone to the countryside to marry Ji Changfeng.
She even felt a little smug. Ji Changfeng was just a lazy thug. If not for not wanting to marry him, why else would she have traveled all that way to the city to find her real parents?
But come New Year’s, when Yu Tang and Ji Changfeng came by train to visit her adoptive parents, carrying loads of gifts and looking radiant and happy, handsome man, beautiful woman, Li Chunfang was stunned.
Not only had Ji Changfeng started a business and was doing extremely well, living a prosperous life, but at the dining table, this rough man was carefully picking out fish for Yu Tang and gently feeding her, his gaze soft and doting.
Their loving interaction left Li Chunfang in disbelief.
That’s Ji Changfeng?!
Snapping out of her daze, she tried to act sweet with her own husband, only to turn and find he was also staring at Yu Tang in a daze.
After a year away, how did Yu Tang, who had stayed in the countryside, end up looking even more beautiful?!
